design is a feeling.

How do you feel in your space? At Design Nest, we believe design is a feeling, and we are here to create the best and most authentic version of your home and business with you.

No project—or budget—is too small or too big for us. Whether you need a little zhuzhing or a major makeover, we are here for you.

We are a customer-first design firm, meaning we listen to you, we work with your budget, and our design is ultimately about you and your lifestyle.

We think of ourselves as "design therapists" helping you to create a home you are happy to return to everyday, or a business space you are proud to share with clients and co-workers alike.

Welcome to Design Nest. We are so glad you are here. Hang out for a while.

how we work

  1. Getting to know you. Working with Design Nest starts with a complimentary meeting with Deanna and Julie in the space that will be edited. At this meeting, goals, budget, project scope, and timeline will be established.

  2. A plan. Deanna and Julie will create a style concept for you based on the initial meeting. Measurements will be taken, floor plans drafted, and moodboards created. These will be presented to you for feedback and approval.

  3. Make it happen. Once we have your approval, Deanna and Julie will complete the full design by finalizing options for finishes, fixtures, and furniture. We can work with your preferred contractor or refer you to contractors we have worked with in your area.

  4. Time to Zhuzz. This is part everyone gets excited about: putting it all together! Sometimes this may take just a day, or it may need a longer stretch of time. Every project is different and will require its own path.

  5. Follow Up. We will check back in and see how you are doing. Does your space need a tweak? We want you to love it!

kind words

“We loved working with Deanna and Julie! We gave them an idea of the style we wanted and they gave us an idea of cost. They worked hard in sourcing the items and combined old and new items to create the perfect space for our rental. They couldn't have been easier to work with. We look forward to using them for other projects."

"Julie and Deanna redesigned my home office and it is now our favorite room in our house. Prior to working with Design Nest, my office had been a drab space that was completely uninspiring. We completely stayed within my budget and they proposed pieces that were eclectic, fun and most importantly (amazingly) all worked together. I never could have created the space that Design Nest did and I adore it."

"I had a little outdoor area that I never used and couldn't figure out how to decorate. Design Nest helped me to create a simple, peaceful space that we use all the time now. They had great suggestions for furniture and recommended design elements that pulled everything together. They were super fun to work with, listened well, gave lots of options and always replied to questions quickly. I look forward to working with Design Nest on my next project!"

“Julie and Deanna were able to look at my loft-like living space and carve out defined areas within this huge room that allowed it to still feel open. We also added a bar to a previously unused and awkward space, making the entire kitchen area feel both much larger and well-defined. We also chose furniture pieces that both worked for the needs of my young family and the stylish look I wanted."
